New Lightweight Distometer (or Vertexometer) is designed to measure the distance between the cornea and the patient's lens, which becomes a consideration with strong corrections. The distometer consists of a caliper, conversion scale and instructions. The caliper is placed between the patient's closed eye and trial lens. The scale compensates for eye lid thickness and allows you to factor vertex distance into power correction for increased accuracy. It also allows you to calculate the effect of different distances.
